About IsThisImage.AI
AI image generators have become astonishingly good. Photos of people who don't exist, products that were never manufactured, receipts that were never printed, and "news" events that never happened can now be produced in seconds — and they spread just as fast. Telling real from generated by eye alone is getting harder every month.
IsThisImage.AI exists to answer one simple question: is this image AI generated?
What We Do
Upload a picture and our detector analyzes the pixel-level patterns, textures, and statistical fingerprints that AI generators leave behind. In seconds you get a probability score showing how likely the image was generated or edited by AI — plus a per-generator breakdown covering Midjourney, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, Flux, Nano Banana, and a dozen other models, so you can see not just whether an image is AI, but which tool most likely made it.
Because detection is purely content-based, it keeps working even when watermarks and metadata have been stripped — which is almost always the case once an image has been shared online.
What We Believe
Probabilities, not verdicts. No detector is perfect, and anyone who tells you otherwise is overselling. We report confidence scores so you can weigh the evidence yourself — and we're upfront that borderline results deserve caution, especially before accusing anyone of anything.
Privacy by default. Images are analyzed and then deleted. We never share your uploads and never use them to train our models. Checking whether a picture is real shouldn't cost you your privacy.
Accessible to everyone. Fact-checking shouldn't be a luxury. That's why free scans are available every day with no sign-up required, while paid plans support the heavier workloads of professionals and teams.
Who Uses It
Everyday users checking a suspicious profile photo or viral post. Artists verifying whether "hand-drawn" work came from a generator. Online buyers and sellers validating product photos and dispute evidence. Journalists verifying images before publishing. Trust & safety and fraud teams screening IDs, receipts, and claim photos at scale.
Keeping Up With the Generators
New image models launch constantly, and each one leaves slightly different traces. We continuously retrain and expand our detection engine as new generators appear, so coverage grows with the landscape rather than lagging behind it.
